Chan Kei Thong was born in Singapore, educated in the United States, and has lived in China for more than 20 years. He is president of Leadership Development International, which provides international education, executive coaching and leadership training.

Charlene L. Fu has been a journalist and editor in China since 1986. Born in Taiwan and educated in the United States, she has been a Beijing-based foreign correspondent for the Associated Press and the editor of a Chinese-language quarterly published by the U.S. State Department for Chinese readers.
